Ways the Broncos and the 'play-dough' QB can end the Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes text commentary of Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six in the football calendar , following last week's discussion regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions each conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.
However it proved good to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have that deficit and then direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, securing the victory by four points.
Denver have the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.
They had the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders but they could plug two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.
Early on in the campaign, we said during a show that the Broncos might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly and did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's dark horses?
New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
I love how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver are a squad aiming to run first, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in favourable situations.
It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass all over, however they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.
His assets are his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.
For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and is very decisive.
When you consistently rush it consumes time and forces the opponent to be in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defence must cover the field downfield side to side. It can be draining.
Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think Payton appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him the way he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.
Payton owns a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the success Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.
I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this path.
They excel at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the only team without a win a game.
Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.
It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
