Loyal fans of the pop star are demanding that a person who jumped a barrier and touched the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared video shows the Australian man pushing past camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the performers proceeded down a yellow carpet accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers revealed that he was scheduled to be present on the next day. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Record of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile includes videos of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Many fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote another response on Instagram.

Several fans also faulted security officers at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In footage circulating online, Grande looked startled when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore supporters had lined up to meet the actors of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had gathered in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The movie, to be launched on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the acclaimed theatrical musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising bond between two very different witches.

The production itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, winning a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
