Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a significant and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
